Organized by Fairchild Television, and co-organized by Talentvision, Fairchild Radio, and Popular Lifestyle & Entertainment Magazine, the final for the ‘Students Can Sing’ singing competition will be held at John Bassett Theatre on June 21st (Friday).
The focus of the competition is to provide the best opportunity and platform for students to express their enthusiasm for music, while also helping to promote local university and college music culture.
Each university/college will have winners from their first-run auditions participate in the semi-final, which will be held on May 4th (Saturday) at First Markham Place. Finalists will be selected by a judging panel to then compete for first place at John Basset Theatre.
Finalists will receive intensive pre-event training on singing techniques, dancing and others in preparation for the final competition in June. They will also participate in the filming/shooting of promotional videos and photos.
Participating universities and colleges include: University of Toronto (St. George/Downtown Campus), University of Toronto (Mississauga Campus), University of Toronto (Scarborough Campus), York University, Ryerson University, Centennial College and more.
